Circus Workshops and Drumming Workshops.
We have taken our Workshops to schools, youth clubs and community groups, hen night parties, adult education centres, corporate and team building events, festivals, kept children entertained at weddings, after school clubs, fetes, play schemes, scouts, cubs, guides, brownies and more!
 
Circus draws together any group and is an exciting vehicle for school shows. Our circus skills workshops involve many different activities, such as diabolo spinning, plate spinning, juggling various objects, staffs and flower-sticks, pedal-gos and pedal-racers, and optionally uni-cycling & tight-rope. The workshops are fully adaptable for all ages and occasions, all that is required is a safe and reasonably sized working space. We have many venues on our books of you require one.
Safe fun is our aim. At the beginning of a circus skills workshop we always demonstrate all the equipment and toys that we use, and discuss all aspects of safety. All our teachers have years of experience not only with their skills but also as dedicated teachers, ensuring that everybody who comes to a TopHat workshop goes away with as many new skills as possible.
In the drumming workshops you will learn how to get different sounds out of the drums, and crucially how to play together to make one big unified sound. This is why we always play in a 'drum circle'. We have full sized African djembe drums that make a fantastic sound, and a jumbo bag of percussion instruments from around the world. We usually start off with a couple of rhythmic games and body percussion, and gradually as we progress through the session we introduce more intricate techniques and rhythms, usually ending in a high-energy finale!
Although we are based in Brighton, Sussex, we frequently travel to Chichester, Worthing, Crawley, Hastings, Eastbourne, Horsham, Tunbridge, Guildford, Croydon, Woking, Sutton, Kingston-on-Thames, Wimbledon... anywhere around Surrey, Kent and the London area.
